Default Muffler swap

So I bought my truck a couple months ago and want to swap out the muffler for a Flowmaster Super 44 with turndown. I have a 2008 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi. My question is do I need a center pipe or offset inlet. Does it matter which one I purchase? I値l be getting it installed at a local muffler shop. I prefer welded rather than just clamping it on. Also my truck is one in one out. Does it pay to have single in dual out or should I just go single in single out?

If you are just doing a turndown, one outlet is fine. Look at the muffler you have now to determine if you need a center or offset inlet.

My 2008 Hemi muffler was a center pipe.
Are you going to remove the resonators? If not, the 44 may not give you the sound you want.
I went with a super 10 and kept the resonators. Sounds good and not loud at all in the cabin. Keeping the resonators made the install easier.

I致e heard the super 10 and it痴 too loud for what I want. I致e heard the super 44 without the res and it痴 the sound I want. I致e already pulled the res off and put a homemade turndown straight out of the muffler.

I prefer Magnaflow. The flowmaster super 40 I had on my truck had way too much drone.

If you want your truck to sound like a beautiful rumbling v8 Hemi, install the Magnaflow
If you want your truck to sound like bongo drums through coffee cans, install the Flowmaster.

Keep it simple. Install the 18" long Magnaflow, 3" SI/SO.
To remove the old muffler SawZall cut the pipe within a few of inches of both ends of the old muffler. Leave the tail pipe and resonator behind the axle unaltered. Mount the Magnaflow as far back as possible, just in front of the axle. Make-up the length difference between the original muffler and the Magnaflow with a piece of straight 3" pipe on the inlet end of the Magnaflow. Makeup a bent 1/4" bars for a hangers where needed. Line the hangers up with the existing rubber mounts. Test fit the system. Tack weld. Weld.

Standard finish 18"

Shiny finish 18"

If you want it to be louder, go with the 14
Standard 14"

Default Magnaflow

I致e already gotten rid of the resonator it痴 in the trash ✌🏻
I don稚 have access to a welding machine so I値l have to bring it to a local shop. I知 undecided on single out or dual out though. If I decide on single out I値l just do a turndown rioout of the muffler. If I decide on dual out I値l turn the pipes out right before the rear tires like on my old truck.
