the only place i've really seen a pulley for the hemi is rpmoutlet.com imo it's not a bad price either. I think i'm gonna buy one pretty soon but i was looking in the engine bay today and at a glance it looks like it would be a real bitch to get in. Is anyone on the board running with one??? if so are there pro's/con's about it already?

It is a simple install if you have a 3-jaw puller and air tools. It took about 20 minutes to install. It would have been less, but it took me some time to find a bolt to run the new one on with. I didn't want to risk stretching the factory one too much.

I "think" my dad got me them for Xmas...I'll take some pics and let you know how the install goes. I know quite a few guys that don't care for them...we had this talk not too long ago.

Black Beast, Do you notice any difference? Power?, fuel economy? Always looking to see if its worth the money. The guys here at work are coming up with a 2 speed damper/pulley. it gains 3% fuel econ. and also makes the A/C cooler in the summer, by running the accessories at slower speeds. They ran it on a new F-150. I keep trying to get them to make me one for the hemi...

Pulleys just seem like such a bad idea. Dodge invests a lot of money to make sure engines stay cool enough and there is sufficient power available for electronics.

There has got to be a better way to make more power.

Also, a 3% increase in mileage is only .39 MPG

It is such a small gain that you won't be able to tell just by butt dyno. As far as gains in MPG, I honestly have no clue...I'm such a hammer that I doubt it makes a difference with someone like me at the wheel. Sorry guys, I'm really not much help with either of those questions.

It also slows down your power steering pump and your alternator as well as slowing the A/C compressor down. I personally think its a waste of money for less hydraulic force in my steering and dim headlights. They used to be a big "bolt on" for the 5 liter mustangs. They were slow before underdrive pulleys and they were slow after underdrive pulleys.

I have noticed no ill effects. No dim headlamps, no issues with steering, cooling or anything else. Sorry you don't approve. I'm just trying to make my ride to work a little more interesting, piece by piece.

Thanks for the info. The other guys were scaring the crap out of me! Every lil bit helps...5 hp here, 10hp there before you know it you've added 50 extra hp.
