I need to bypass the AC compressor on a 02 Ram 1500 . Can't find a bypass pulley for the 02 - Ram 1500 4.7L engine. I found one for the 4.7L Dakota and Durango, but it will not work on the 1500 4.7L. Dorman makes one for the 2002 V6 and 5.9 V8 for this truck, but they wont work either. Has anybody dealt with this?!? Any home brew ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

I bought a shorter belt when I once bypassed my a/c compressor. But, I was also bypassing the power steering pump at the same time. I do not recommend that; my golfer's elbow hurt so bad when turning! For that belt, I did not need another pulley.

 

I know this is an old thread but I was still unable to find any more info on dodge 4.7l ac bypass options. I was also never able to find a bypass pulley but I was able to successfully re-route a 80.5" belt to bypass the ac pulley altogether. This worked on a 2008 ram 1500 SLT 4x4 with the 4.7l.
