Default 02 Ram 1500 NV3500 Shift tower?

The problem I am having is everytime I order a shift tower for my truck they send me the square slip on style and tell me that is the only match. the problem I am having is that the little Brown plastic bushings are worn making it difficult to shift in and out of gear because it's not holding "center". mine is threaded and has a bend.

Well, chatted them up they convinced me they had the correct part for me. Ordered it, it arrived today. threads are wrong, pewny short shaft compared to mine. Quite frustrated with this whole mess. Look online for the shift stick itself and it shows mine, threaded. Look for the shift tower it is a square slip on unit. Something is wonky.

Maybe see if you can find one on the used market....... Higher likelihood of getting the correct part.

You can't change just the guts from one to yours??

Your tower looks like mine.....I have a nv4500 in a 05 2500 with the 5.7. mine is threaded, and bent.

Maybe you should run a build sheet, and verify which trans you have?

That was my first thought after finding the new one was wrong. The square shaft style has larger different style bushings. The new threaded one from cobra had the correct bushings. So for all intents and purposes I was able to correct my initial issue. However I still need to know why it seems Nothing is a match. Curiosity kills me sometimes. As for the NV4500 my understanding is that the bottom portion that extends into the shift cup is much longer on the 4500. Mine only extends maybe a quarter on an inch.
