Default RE: Automatic Door Lock Problem?

Hmmm... I took my wifes '02 Liberty(95,000 miles) in for an oil change last week and the very next day it started doing the same thing. The more we messed with it the worse it got. It got to the point that it would arm the security system as soon as you shut the drivers door, locked or not. We had it to the deal 3 days this week and spent about $220 for them to find a wiring problem inside one of the front doors. If this doesn't help at least you won't feel alone.

Just yesterday while I was at the post office, I left the truck running to go in, came out and started to open the door and it locked itself as soon as I grabbed the handle. [:@] Left the cell phone in the truck, had to walk home (luckily it was only a couple blocks). Guess i'll make a spare and carry it in my wallet.

I got rear ended last week and when I got out of the truck to talk to the Hwy Patrol the locks went down . I was locked out. Then I was given a ticket for no proof of insurance because it was inside the Hemi. I carry a spare now and I just wish these young kids stop running into my truck....4th time the body shop.

It seems door locks gets locked automatically due to the automatic door locking system. It seems that there might be problem in your automatic door locking system or it may happen that the automated locking system is not installed properly in your car.

I know this is an old thread but I'm curious what others have done to fix this?, or even if its fixable?

My truck locked itself at the carwash, the key in the ignition, but off. When it came out of the wash bay the kid couldn't get it open and it just rolled off the line with no one in it. They had to break into the truck to get the keys.

Then this week I started the truck, had to get out and get something out of the back seat, the wind blew the drivers side door shut and locked? WTH, I was locked out and the truck was running. Not a good situation 35 miles from home with limited sources available,,,,,,

Its never done this for the first 4 years I've own the truck so something changed recently..
