My brother and i have drag raced our trucks and my GMC beats his Hemi Ram in the 1/4 mile each time consistent.....They are both RCSWB trucks i have the 5.3 (327) he has the Hemi. My GMC is light with no options and 3.73 rear is there a big differnce in weight on these two trucks?

Exactly. Your brother needs to,learn how to drive. He should beat you buy many truck lengths.

Seriously though, it does not take that good of a driver. Unless he just burns the tires the driver has little to do with a race like this. The Ram should have 3.73 or 3.92s, so gearing is not an issue.

IF this is true the Ram has a problem. Fix it or sell it. If you are in NW Ohio and want to run a Ram with a Hemi that performs as it should we can hit the track once they open up in the spring.

not really too suprising IMO SCSB 5.3s are small and light. they have a good advantage there. but the hemi does have a 60 HP advantage too. every truck is a lil different. what were your guys times? 60 foot, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, exc.

 

Lots of those trucks have 3.55 gears. Funny how all of you seem to think the hemi cant be beat. It can be beat and in bigdaddy's brothers case, it is being beat. End of story.
