Default Blown EZA replacement?

Hello All,
So I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4WD Quad Cab, VIN: 3D6WH48D57G740922
and looks like it needs a new engine. I did some looking and I found its an EZA engine. I have 2 Questions...
1. What Models carry the same EZA. I'm guessing 02-08 Rams 1500 Quad Cab or higher? any other Ideas??
2. Is it possible to engine swap into a EZB or other engine with out a complete harness/computer swap, or if the harness/computer is just in the engine bay that might be ok.

Any other suggestions or recommendations would be welcome, Thanks!
ps... 3rd cyl on the passenger side is what broke...

I don't know what an EZA engine refers to, but MoPar put MDS on the 1500 series pretty early. 5.7s came out in 03 and I think they added MDS in 05 or 06 on the 1500. I don't know when the 2500s got MDS, but I think it was later than the 1500s. Most junkyards have reference materials that will tell you what you have and what is compatible.

EZA refers to the engine order code or engine configuration. What I'm trying to find is a complete long block. So I'm just assuming the long block 5.7's are not interchangable and need to have that exact config to replace the one I have.

Also I forgot to say it's a chassis 3500 quad 4x4 automatic not a regular truck.

Anyone around Kansas City have any dodge engine contacts would be great too.

I googled and found that the EZA you refer to is the non-mds engine. Supposedly you can pull the mds related components off a EZB before 2008 to make it non-mds. Not sure what is involved that way. I'd check craigslist, junkyards, and the usual suspects for replacement options. If you just want one to rebuild, that may be easier to find.

Wow, a 3500 with a 5.7, must be rare. Dual or single rear wheels??
I have an 05 2500 with the 5.7 non mds, but I also got the nv4500 5 speed.
I don't think the 3/4 tons and up got mds until the 4th gen trucks??, but I could be wrong.
I know the new power wagons have the mds, but they also have the 6.4.
