I figured out the wire after 100 of pages of wiring diagrams and pics of connectors. Center dash speaker for Infinity 7 speakers system which I don't have anymore. Now to figure out the brake light problem.

Was the brake light switch that I had to replace. Who knew just unplugging it would warrant replacement.

I've unplugged and replugged my brake switch in the 04 2500 at least 3 times; didn't seem to hurt it. But you can't touch that little switch on the back, that is what screws it up - supposedly. Sounds like you've got it all in hand, except the cut wires near the column. If I have some time next weekend, I'll take a pic of that area of my truck. I'll likely be digging into the dash to run some wire across to the passenger side door latch.

Congrats !
