150k mile pre winter checkup
So it's getting to be sky dandruff season soon and thought I'd check with you all on here to see if my truck is needing anything or is running good. It had a new engine 5-10k miles ago but i don't know which components are new or old so thought I'd just list anything of notice.
2007 ram 1500 5.7 V8 MDS automatic quad cab part time electric 4x4 with 150k miles.
Electrical: lights dim when window motor is in use especially when stalled/at end of travel. Noticeable but not bad. Normal quirk or alil off?
Driving wise: intake leak noise. No idea where it just is but drives fine. Air filter box doesn't fit perfectly tho but has brand new filter. Is a leak bad or something you get used to it's only audible with window down.
Incidents of notice: Shut down once going down into a rest stop suddenly. Cruise control was on and wasn't in any special modes so MDS was able to activate. It had massive issues restarting and idled horrible and died soon then just ran fine ever since. Is it possible the MDS stuck on when it shouldn't of? I was hauling 200-300 pounds of stuff and 500 or more pounds of people total (myself included) and was braking on the ramp. Gas cap also was off because a certain idiot (me) left it in the stake hole before driving 200 miles before the shutdown.
Passenger trim/seal on cab near windshield is loose in a spot. Anyway to fit it back in its slot.

The intake leak is a concern as it should never leak. I'd find and fix that. As for shutting down, depending on what caused it, it may be of concern or not. Generally, if the coolant hasn't been changed in the last 5 years, get some fresh along with a new thermostat. A window motor binding will dim the lights a bit. If the alternator and battery are good otherwise, don't worry about that. Tires have plenty of tread? Good wiper blades? I just put winter blades on my pickup as they don't build up ice.
If you've kept your maintenance up, you should be good to go. Now, if you live up north, you might want to check your block heater too while you're at it.
