My best friend has a 1993 Z71 farm truck that has been through the ringer. The only thing they have done is rebuild the tranny and replace everything except the roof. They've replaced the tailgate like 5 times. Kept sticking the round bale fork through it when loading and unloading round bales with the tractor. Now that 4WD Case tractor has gotten us unstuck many times....if just sucks to walk 1-2 miles back to the barn when your boots are full of mud. LOL

I have an 03 QC and I love it!! My company (Yamaha) uses a Silverado, it has been around the block a few times (205,000 miles worth) of towing our flatbed stacked high with Motorcycle crates! It is a 2500 with the 350 TBI engine, so it's a complete dog, maybe makes 150HP LOL. It naturally has the chevy knock under the hood, but it takes me all over southern cali and hasn't broken down on me yet. I guess they weren't kidding when they made the saying, "longest lasting trucks on the road." I can't say that chevy is a bad product when it comes to reliability, they are just butt ugly...

Chevy has some good things going for it... their trucks have more standard HP than the Dodges and certainly get better milage.

look at their vette motors, all aluminum (from what I understand) and cranks out well over 300 hp stock, the z06 is now over 400... this motor makes an excellent swap into older cars and weighs less than the iron blocks being yanked. There's been some LSx swaps into the BMW e36 M3's that make them really scream... and they only weigh 40 lbs more than the stock M3 motor...

it does suck though that they got rid of all of the other performance cars. the vette and the trucks are really the only thing that is worth the bux IMO...

I admit, I was raised on an '87 Chevy S-10 and loved it till the day we had to sell it, but I love my Ram like a son. I think my girlfriend gets jealous sometimes. I did alot of searching before I found a Ram in my price range and am glad I didn't settle for a new Chevy. The older ones are rock solid, but these new ones have alot of bugs. A good friend of mine bought a 05 Silverado when he got to Texas and as soon as I hopped in it for the first time, I knew I had made the right choice. The interior is dismal and I think the front end just isn't mean enough. Its already been in the shop for electrical problems and he doesn't have a dream in beating me on the road. All he ever talks about when I drive is how mean it sounds.

I am hoping to see what they come out with in the new Camaro/Firebird line. Chevy always had a strong influence on car muscle. Though the Charger SRT-8 looks wicked.

I'll take a Dodge/Chevy over a Ford or foreign truck anyday.

Speaking of which, what the hell was Ford and Nissan thinking on interiors? Like something out of Star Trek. Not smooth and flowing at all. What are those interiors gonna look like after 5 years of use?

That's really what got me looking at the Dodge in the first place. I just decided that for my taste, Chevy missed the boat on looks with the whole slanted headlights thing. Not quite as ugly as the Nissan, but pretty bad.

Every car company goes thru their UGLY phase....including Dodge.

Also, there will be no Trans-Am/Firebird.....strictly the Camaro this time....and that's what GM has said about it.

You're right about the Camaro only DevilsReject. Not sure when, I'm guessing the next few yrs.

I'm 50/50 on the slanted headlights mill500. I find myseld staring at the front end of my 06 Silverado trying to decide whether I like it or not and haven't come up with anything yet... Hey, it's a company vehicle and I didn't pay a thing for it! I'll take it. One thing that is beginning to **** me off is that it's not a Crew Cab 4 door, only extended cab where you have to open the front doors to open the back ones. After driving my Quad Cab Ram, I guess I'm spoiled now.

It's scheduled for the same year as the Dodge Challenger, 2009.

Same goeas for me, I believe the UGLY stage for dodge was pre 2002.. I used to think the rams were the ugliest things on the road, but they are built sooo tough! Now I think the new look is awesome, and still kept the 'buff' look. At least they didn't target soccer moms like HUMMER DID!!!!

My dad has a 96 chevy chyenne with a 305.. It has 200,000 Miles the only thing that has been replaced was the a/c compressor, he ran Mobil 1 since about 5000 miles and that thing still rips the tires at the light.. He has an 03 GMC also with the Duramax and it has 70,000 miles and the injectors pumped diesel in the crank case but after that it hadnt had a problem, Ill say this Dodge makes the best Diesel but that Allision Tranny is a beast I think they should combine the two... He said he hates diesels and had has less problems with his 96, that 96 has been through hell when i drove it for 9 months in highschool, both of them are his company trucks

I got a 05 ram with the 4.7 SCSWB and it has plenty of power im please with it and it only cost 15,000 brandnew
