04 hemi flooding not running 268 cam and heads upgrade to 6.1 parts

Default 04 hemi flooding not running 268 cam and heads upgrade to 6.1 parts

I put a 268 cam new lifter,upgrade the head with 6.1 parts truck will start but die if I'm not on the throttle, when it does die the little lightning bolt will flash also when it does die I can smell fuel sometime it's hard to start back up.as long I'm on the gas it will stay running and also sounds good, no misfire

No according to the website you dont need to but they recommend for best results I just put the exhaust back on it sounds like the engine fighting itself and sounds horrible going to take it apart to see what ms going on

What website???? Good lord......yes, you need a custom tune if you wish to have any hope of that thing running right. You might have gotten a 260 to run somewhat on the stock tune, but a 268 is too much.
What 6.1 parts did you use? Normal upgrade for those heads and an aftermarket cam is 6.1 exhaust springs all around and a full set of 6.1 intake and exhaust pushrods. Is that what you used? You didn't stick 6.1 injectors in, did you?

No 6.1 injector and yes I did the springs and pushrods I think I found the problem I think I put the driver side pushrods in wrong

The intake (6.646") and exhaust (7.925") pushrods are significantly different lengths, you had to try hard to mix those up. How'd you get any preload on the intake side with such a short rod?
Regardless, even with everything mechanically sound the 04 PCM will not like a 268 on stock tune.
