Default 2002 dodge ram 1500 headlights not working

So my names austin i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 that was my dads truck he passed away about a month ago and im finally getting time to start looking at it i put a new starter on it today (it wouldnt crank and just clicked when u turned the key) and starts just fine now but the headlights are out, the high beams and low beams neither work, the tail lights and blinkers work just fine but neither my high or low beams work, i checked fuses and the relay and they are fine im wondering what to check next.

Update: the lights are on a seperate toggle switch that has been installed is there a way to get it back to the original switch.

Not sure we will be able to help you out too much when the wiring has been altered with the toggle switch. Guessing the toggle switch was added because there was already a fault in the headlight wiring system somewhere. I would start by trying to get them working with the toggle. Check for 12v reaching the toggle and leaving when the switch is on. Looks like your gonna be learning more about wiring systems. Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

Well your next step will be figuring out why the toggle switch was installed
