My headlights cut off while driving and parked. Tap dash they work for a bit. Replaced switch and problem continues. What next

Is it just the headlights or all running lights? If just the headlights, I would check out the multi-function switch on the steering column..Controls the bright lights and may have a bad connection internally or at the plug.

 

Could be a circuit board corrosion or fault that is under the fuses in the engine compartment too.
