Default Update on my transmission

2002 ram 1500 5.9l

I posted a while back about my truck shifting from 1 to 2 at about 3k to 3500 rpm, 2 to 3 at 2800+ rpm if I let off gas real quick and hit it would shift.

well did some research and I diagnosed it as governor pressure solenoid. So today I dropped pan, still nice red fluid, and absolutely nothing in pan. Magnet had very minor sludge.

I pulled out out governor housing and sensors. Cleaned them with electrical cleaner spray. Activated solenoid with 12v open and closed as I was spraying cleaner to get it all inside. Sprayed out harness connectors as well.

Reinstalled same sensors with new filter and new fluid and viola. My transmission shifts perfect now. No hesitation, no hard shifts, goes perfect. From 1 to 2 it shifts from 2400 to 2700 rpm, and 2 to 3 shifts at 2500 rpm without having to let off gas real quick to get the shift...I already had fluid at my shop so it only cost me $30 in parts, and an hour and a half of time.

very happy
