Default 2007 ram vent selector NOT working

Hey guys
I have a 2007 dodge ram 3500 5.9 diesel Laramie
The "vent" selector is stuck on "main vents". Deforst and feet are NOT working
I've heard it could be the "blend doors" or possibly the actual control module.
any advice on how to troubleshoot and repair myself would be greatly appreciated
Again this is a 2007 truck so 3rd gen
advice advice for 2006-08 would be best as that's the years of the "newer interior" design
Thanks a bundle

remove the mode door actuator from the hvac box. check for broken splines on the actuator and mode door. if its all ok...make sure you can move the mode door with you fingers from one stop to the other. if the door moves and nothing is broken...swap the actuator. if you have a broken door or stuck door...remove the dash and hvac case.

i had a similar problem in my 2007 ram 1500 4.7 2000000 miles. mine wasnt opening and never really got hot.
i had them flush heater core and everything started working correctly.
I had truck for five years and never heard them open. Now they open and everything works really well.

The doors breaking are very common as they are electric. I fixed mine by putting a stick into where heat blows from the floor. You can force the door open and the air starts coming out. In the summer i remove so AC blows out better from vents. Problem solved LOL
