Default 08 Ram 2500 Stuck in 4 Low

Working on an 08 ram 2500 4x4 mega cab Cummins engine. Started off with complete A/C rebuild. Pulled the dash out to the seat to gain access to the Hvac box. Total box rebuild except door motors. Put it all back together to include all a/c components under the hood. Also replaced steering gearbox. Well I said all components, we used the old pressure sensor by the corner of the radiator.
After charging the a/c we noticed it stuck in 4 low. Tried all the ways your supposed to change positions and the light goes to 2 hi but goes right back to 4 low! Had the battery cables off the whole rebuild. Any ideas?

We did. We have had the cables off overnight. We are cleaning and checking all the plugs we had anything to do with, crossing our fingers!
it wasn’t in 4wd at all before we started this, have no idea of how it got put into 4wd and stuck in 4 low. I haven’t ever run into anything like this.

Is this electronic or manual transfer case?

Everything was connected. I unplugged and replugged the big connection on the driver side and wiggled the others. Hooked the battery up. Cranked it mashed the brake put in neutral, took foot off break and it lined out.

When you tried driving in reverse with the switch set to 2WD, did you at least back up a good 20 to 25 feet?
