2004 ram 1500 80/100W headlight conversion - Help
Hello all,
New to the forum, need some help. I spent some time researching my issue and cannot find a specific thread regarding it so here goes
I wanted to upgrade my headlights to 80/100 so I bough the putco 9007 conversion harness. I know that they aren't the best harness out there, I upgraded to relays with Buell 30/40a relays and sockets, with twin 30A fuses. All connections properly soldered and shrink wrapped. When I did the install and turned on the lights the relay would cycle at about 1Hz, click, click, click.... Swapped relays, high vs low beams, same issue. I checked grounds, swapped grounds, all good. When I jump the relay to 12vdc it activates and holds, no problem.
Through some research I see that there is a TIPM module that controls the headlight activation. Could the TIPM be reading the resistance, overload, etc. from the relay solenoid and be shutting off as a protective measure? Is there any way around this?
Thank you in advance.

Give Superbright LED a call, they probably have the above harness ( It appears to be one of theirs ) and can get in in the right direction, I have a bigger box at each of my lights that I got from them for a LED set up but worked with the HIDS, I honestly don't remember the name of it as it has been so long.
