Figured out why I couldn't get the spare down....
Well, if the lugnuts are at the specified torque, it probably won't matter if anyone can get the tire down since they'll probably never get the nuts loose with the standard tool.[:@]
If one has a female who might change a tire, I'd heartily recommend one of the little mechanical torque multipliers some of the specialty car part catalogs carry.
Keep the flat spot up!

The lock is a factory add on. I'll try to take some picks later and post them if my wife's camera doesn't act up again. I think it's about time for a new one.
If you live in an area where they salt the roads, I would loose the spare tire lock. You will probably not get it to unlock when you need your spare. Been there and it's was not a fun experience. I'd rather take the extrememly low risk that someone might steel my spare.
Im in Canada and they just use a small piece of braded wire and a padlock, they give you 2 small brass keys with your truck... I was like, wtf are these two little keys... I looked under the truck and there's a padlock hanging down... :P
It's not a padlock so I'm not worried about a lock per se. I'm charging up camera batteries and should be able to shoot, load, and post pics on Friday to show everyone what I'm talking about.
