I have a 2006 Ram 1500 and the front right axle seal had been leaking, there was also a slit in the boot at the CV joint, so I replaced the CV axle, axle seal, and stub shaft w/ bearing. I also did ball joints since they had some wear. I put everything back together and had the shop do an alignment, now after driving about 100 miles I see the new axle seal is leaking, and there's a very small amount of side-to-side movement in the stub shaft. Any ideas on what could cause this when everything was just replaced? Thank you!
Get another seal, make sure the surface it rides on is clean, and has no marf marks on it. Smear some grease on it too. Make sure the seal is well lubed on installation.....
