I'm trying to remember how the cylinder is held in the column. I think you can remove both the smart switch and lock cylinder with the steering wheel in place. How many miles on the truck? If you have a bunch, the lock cylinder may have worn out and dropped a slider. I've only seen that a couple of times through the years. You MIGHT be able to go underneath and drill the locking pin out. This is what holds the cylinder on place. A sliding hammer would do the trick and get it out but may break the column. As a last resort, I have drilled the key slots and broken the cylinder apart in place. That is a LAST resort though. Can you move the rod going down the column to the ignition switch?
