MDS code came up
Hello, my 2008 1500 with the 5.7 just ran a p3487 code while highway driving. The truck is only 110,000km (about 62,000 miles) The job seems pretty simple, but I'm wondering if replacing those solenoids and checking the oil passages is likely to be the only thing I will need to do, and if this is unusually early for these to fail.
I did a fresh oil change, and the code returned immediately upon reset.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me
EDIT:
I took my truck to a local shop, they used their diagnostic tool to check my solenoids. They all tested fine, and my CEL is off. I'm thinking this could have all been caused by the wrong weight oil from the last owner and they just needed to be cycled. If this comes back I'll update my post.

Well if it isn't the solenoid then it's the lifter. Take a soft hammer (mallet or dead blow) to it first to try and loosen it; with only that much mileage you might get lucky. Higher mileage they like to self destruct getting removed. If it isn't any of the solenoids then you're gonna be pulling heads.
