Fuel Rail and fuel injectors interchange.
Hello,
I am new here. I just bought a 2003 Ram 2500 5.7 Last fall.
When I was changing the plugs, and a fun job that was, my very rusty fuel rail decided to spring a leak. I bought another fuel rail on eBay from a 2004 to 2008 ram that came with a set of injectors.
The original injectors that I pulled with the rusty fuel rail have a green band at the bottom of them and their part number is 53032142AC.
The injectors that I received with the new "used" fuel rail have a purple band on the bottom of them and their part number is 53032713AA.
When I look at my original injectors a few of them do not seem to be in great shape, so here is my question. If I were to replace all of the original green banded ones with the purple banded ones (I have a set of 8 of these) will they create any problem with my engine?
Thank you
Dave

Those are for 2004-2005, according to this mopar site. https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...3032713aa.html Ebay says the same thing.
I'd sell the newer model set on ebay, and get a set of new or reman ones for the 2003. The computer would likely learn and adjust to use the wrong set, perhaps not optimally - and the fuel trims would show up off when its scanned.
