Default 2004 4.7l to 5.7l?

I have 2 complete 04 rams, 1 is standard cab(5.7) the other is quad cab(4.7). I would like to put the 5.7 from the standard cab into the quad cab. What kind of headaches should I be aware of?

LMAO....a whopping two posts and the first one was 3yrs ago. The 5.7 will physically bolt into the truck and to the trans. After that you're screwed lol.

I appreciate your reply. Why would I be screwed? Having all components. What am I missing?

I think swap the PCM's, and the wiring harnesses, then get the PCM flashed to the correct VIN, and I *think* you will be all set......

that's what I was thinking. Everything that I have read was dealing with different year models. I couldn't find anything that dealt with same year swaps. Thank you

Because it isn't as easy as simply transferring components. Is it doable? Yes. Are most people successful? No.

PCM & all engine/trans harness, accessory drive (different between the two engines), SKIM (if applicable), APPS pedal, the ability to VIN flash and possibly flash other modules (for starters).
Good luck, no one ever comes back and gushes how well it's running because they normally get in over their heads or just don't finish.
