Default Possible to swap manual 4x4 to electronic 4x4 in a 2005 2500?

Basically like the title says, I'm curious if it's possible to swap out the manual 4x4 shifter in my 2005 2500, with the electronic shifter from my 2004 1500?

Would the wiring already be in place in the 2500 or no? Would it be worth even doing this?
I really like the extra floor space afforded by the electronic shift but if it's a ton of work to do and not just swapping over a few parts then I'll likely skip it and just live with the manual shifter.

Personally, I like the manual shifter better...... as it always works. Can't say the same for the electronic shifting...... I am not a fan of adding yet another layer of complexity, to an already complex system.

That said, Dodge has a habit of only using one wiring harness in their vehicles, regardless of what options the vehicle is actually going to get, so, good chance the connectors are indeed in there. I am not sure if you would need to do any programming to make it work though.

ya Im not so sure I want to go through with it yet. I just bought a 2005 2500 and haven't picked it up yet.

now maybe I made a stupid decision, maybe I didn't, I don't know yet. But I bought this one because I've been looking for a 2005 because it has better tuning options for my tuner, but I'm also hoping that it will get better than the 9-10mpg that my 2004 1500 gets.
If I'm lucky, this could be a good truck.....if not, then I guess I'm trying to sell it too, once I find out what kind of mileage it'll get.

I'm just unsure if I paid too much for it, at $10,995 CAD plus taxes.

Yeah, but thats a less than 10 dollar fix....... Same can't be said for the electronic version. When that fails, you are looking at hundreds of dollars to repair.
