Default Carrier Bearing

Hello everyone

New to the forum and truck I have 2006 1500 quad-cab, the truck has 215k ,3.7 engine and is two wheel drive. I bought from my neighbor for a steal and the body and interior are in great shape. I believe I need to replace the carrier bearings the rubber bushing is cracked and I am getting vibration when accelerating. When you google the part about 3 options pop up. I have the square housing on mine, I am trying to determine the shaft size that the bearing goes on, any help would be appreciated.

Maybe this is hanger bearing or center bearing

Carrier bearings are in the differential. Could you post a pic of what you are talking about??

Carrier bearing is also in the middle of a two piece driveshaft, I didn't think quad cab 1500's got two piece shafts (exc SRT).

Ah, valid point. That one wouldn't come to mind.

Well, sumbitch lol. Always thought it was a terrible idea to put the 3.7 in a quad cab; they weren't that dumb with the 02-05's. So, in the LX cars that bearing isn't serviced (not by dealers anyhoo). You can however get that bearing easily enough: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+support,12743
You may need to take it to a shop, as if I recall it is pressed on.

thank you for the rock auto link, which gives good options. This leads back to my original reason for my question. When you look at the descriptions on the bearing some have a BEARING ID / BORE: 1.5750 INCH and some have 1.3780" Bearing I.D. I would assume with the pooch 3.7L I would have the small shaft, but you know what happens when you assume. Yes the bearing is pressed on , but if you are careful you can cut it off with cutting wheel and if not completely frozen some have managed to use a puller to get them off.

Well there shouldn't be too many variations/options for the 42RLE application
