Default 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 3.7 Fuel System Issue

Working on a member on our family's 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with a fuel system issue. We have verified the fuel pump runs by jumping relay and the pump will work. I am having a difficult time trying to find a printable wiring schematic for this vehicle. Plus - has anyone permanently jumped the fuel pump by bypassing the relay? In researching - someone (on a different site) mentioned using a toggle switch in place of the relay to manually turn on and off. Another issue we have encountered is that the fuel gauge and low fuel light are not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's wrong with the relay? Is the PCM not triggering it? What engine?
