Unhappy 2006 4.7L Dodge Ram 1500 Ticking
Any answers as to what the ticking noise is? Lifters, timing kit, and injector kill test have all been done. Noise persists. Help!!!!

i agree, but the questionable thing is with the injector kill test the tick never subsided.... shouldnt it when the cylinder stops firing then?

You would think so..... but, not necessarily. Another member replaced his lifters, only to find a selection of them would NOT bleed down.......

Sounds like the lifters are shot... Might mean there's a really bad issue with the engine.

Woulda been better if you shot the video under the hood. How many miles? I see the CEL is on, what code are you getting? If it's a misfire, you may have thrown a rocker.

it’s just an emissions code because it no longer has the stock cold air intake... there is a video posted under the hood. Also the mileage is shown in the video and the lifters and rockers were just done.
