Exclamation Np243D replacement or repair??

Hey Guys, I've got a few questions here. So I we got about 50 cm of snow so I put the old girl in 4x4 and drove down the highway (road wasn't plowed yet) when I rolled into work I noticed a smell of buring atf.. crawled under the truck and the front drive shaft was smoking out of the ujoint at the transfercase. The transfercase and shafts where hot to the touch burned my hand on the front shaft... I do have a 4inch lift on the truck and the ujoint on the front drive shaft is at a pretty good angle. (Yes, I've tilted the front diff) So I'm thinking about changing the transfercase out with something else but I want it to bolt right up to my getrag 238 transmission. I'm wondering if anyone knows what will bolt up to the getrag 238 with no adapters and have more drop to get a better angle on the front drive shaft, or am I better off to get another np243D or rebuild the one I have and just rotate it so the front driveshaft has a better angle to it?? Im also trying to avoid as much down time as I can as it's my daily and I don't have a back up vehicle Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I would want to know why the t-case is getting hot. High driveline angle won't cause that..... That would be more of a vibration, and noise.

How's the fluid in the t-case?

Fluid looks great. No shavings nothing like that. I wanna say the oil filter on the pick up line is plugged and that's what's causing the over heating
