I have a 2005 Ram 1500 4wd. It has the 5.7 hemi with about 180,000 miles on it. Understand I use a truck like a truck, it has a trailer behind it at least 50% of the time. I don't go "mudding" but the 4wd is used a good deal. The 1st problem I'm having is I seem to be stuck in 4wd, I'm trying to troubleshoot what might be the issue. I'm not even clear on exactly how the 4wd engages in my truck. I've read a great deal about it, but still don't have a clear understanding of it. Take in consideration, I have never been a DIY mechanic. In fact this is the1st truck I've ever really attempted to work on. 2nd problem is I am having to replace front driveshaft cv joint the 2nd time withon 6 months old.
