Okay. New here. I have a 2007 single wheel one ton with a 5.9 Cummins. Under 150k miles. I am the second owner. A couple of months ago I backed up to my horse trailer, killed it, went about hooking on and loading horses... got back in, turned the key over, nothing. All electric fired right up. Batteries are at full juice. It just wouldn't even attempt to turn over. After consulting youtube to find the starter, crawling around and whacking on it a few times (husband's advice - he wasn't home, and that was all he could think of to try)... still nothing. I got the bright idea to pull the black anti theft fob from under the dash, waited a minute... plugged it back in... waited... Ol'Son fired right up.
This morning I go out to head to work... same problem presents itself. I tried the black security thing under the dash trick again... twice. Didn't work. Yes, it's fully engaged, I made sure it wasn't just kinda halfway in there.
Called our diesel mechanic. He's 300 miles away. He won't be back in town till late tonight. He said that's a common problem with the system but it can be wired around/by passed/disabled. My husband is on the road to Texarkana and also can't help. I took a second rig to work so I'm not on foot today. Problem is, I need it up and going so I can hook on, fuel up, load my hay and coolers and clothes and stuff... get my trailer moved, packed and loaded to roll out for a four day horse camp trip tomorrow morning.
I've tried searching youtube, but I don't think I'm asking the right question for a video on how to do this. Everything I find talks about the actual key fob and the alarm system, which is not my problem. Hubs said if I can find a tutorial on it, he can do it when he gets home this afternoon.
Can anyone throw this chick a bone and recommend a video or point me to a tutorial here if you have one? This is aggravating and also - I don't want to get 2 hours from home (or further), and have this problem happen again, especially with horses loaded up. Pic from the last trip in the offending rig attached just because.
Nevermind folks. Went home at lunch, pulled the fob, blew it out with canned air, blew out the other end in the dash. Fired right up. Will just have it bypassed when our guy next weekend. Thanks if you were looking for an answer for me.

Hope you don't have any more issues. Sometimes things just need to be cleaned from time to time.
