New to the forum guys and Gals. I have a 2006 3500 4dr lb srw 5.7 hemi.
I have no heat unless i shut off the blower for a bit and turn it back on. I have made sure the blend door is in the proper position. blew out the heater core. Changed the thermostat. It is full on fluids. I did notice when I had my tuner on guage mode that it says its only heating up to 177 which sounded low to me. Before I noticed this I put a new 180 stat in it. Im totally at a loss here. I live in Michigan and its COLD this time of year lol. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Did you take the box out of the truck to make sure doors are moving correctly? (sometimes the calibration at the dealer will not read if the door is broken) It sounds like one of the blend doors is not allowing the heater core to release its heat in the cabin.
I have the hot cold blend door fully opened. I was not aware there was more than one. The one that is controlled by the hot cold control is {locked} open via everyones favorite bonding agent ZIP TIES Lol. If there is a second door I am not aware of the location.
If you're interested in fixing the blend doors that are causing your flow issues check us out at blenddoorusa.com. We have been making these doors since 2009. Below is a picture of a 2006 Single Zone heater box. (if you have a Dual Zone there are 4 doors instead of the two shown.) Be sure to read our actuator bulletin if you are replacing the blend door actuators.
