P2096 or P2098 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Low Limit. Does any one know what this means?

These codes are not a very common code and will probably take a good tech to diagnose. A few guesses would be contaminated fuel, vaccum leak, O2 sensor, exhuast leak, or engine mechanical problems. Also you should make sure you have not made any mods. or added anything to your fuel that could effect your fuel/air mixture.

 

Truck is stock nothing has been touched, no addded fuel octane boosters or anything. Went on a long trip and noticed that I need to change the airfilter when I got back. I changed it and thought that might be the reason for the dummy light but hasent turned off yet.

 

I was wrong P2096 is Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System To Lean Bank 1. I really havent found anything on this.

 

i have the same code on mine and the dealer says that is probably the o2 sensor after the cath that is bad,so i order one today and i'll see what happen

 

My 08 Dakota 4.7 threw the same code, the dealer replaced the oxygen sensor and 2 days later the light came back on and the trucks shudders at part throttle. This drive by wire stuff is crap! I hope they can fix it, I just bought the truck like 3 weeks ago from Cerritos Dodge and now all of this! NOT HAPPY!
