Default Will 97 9.25 rear end work in a 2002 1500 4.7L with a 9.25 in it

Will Chrysler 9.25 rear end out of a 97 work with a 2002 1500 ram 4.7 l engine has a 9.25 in it now

i think mine is on its way out, when I changed the pinion seal the flange had a bit of play in it, so I found one from a 97 for a good deal, but I’m not sure if the splines will line up for sure

I'm sure someone that knows these rear ends will reply. Also consider rebuilding your current rear end. Kits are around $120. It's be less work and you won't have any compatibility issues.

you can rebuild you diff in your truck! Randy’s ring and pinion, has master remand kits! You will have to replace the ring and pinion too!
if your ring and pinion has a lot of runout ? It’s best to replace them! Save you a lot of head aches!!! The rear ended from the 2002, can be used! But there’s a lot of different’s you have to correct! Spring perches, driveshaft yoke is different, driveshaft it’s self may have to be shorted or added to, brakes ?? See what I’m saying?? Pending on were you live. There’s diff rebuilders! In Houston Texas area! There’s Bronco diff Builders or Bronco Auto salvage!! In north Houston! In the Aldine area!
they can send you a diff completely loaded, brakes and everything on it ! They have warranty too!! Don’t for get your gear ratio too
