Engine shaking when A/C is on
04 Ram 1500 5.7L runs nice until I turn my A/C up then it starts to shake. Gets worse the higher I turn it up. Any ideas. I just cleaned my throttle body so far. Mybe the compressor is sticking or going out?
With the truck off, can you turn the a/c clutch (the center of the compressor which the compressor pulley spins around)?
If not, then your clutch has frozen.
If you can turn the clutch, try starting the truck with the a/c off, then have someone turn the a/c on high/cold while you watch the compressor.
If you are able to replicate the shaking while you are watching, take a look at the engine mounts.
Shaking the engine sounds odd to me. With a/c compressor problem, I would expect belt squeal but not a shaking engine.

Thanks I will check that when I get home. It does blow out nice cold air so not sure if it’s frozen. and can’t feel it shake when it’s on low. But once I turn it up you can feel it start shaking.
Just remove the three screws holding it in, it comes right out. before you do, just hold your hand on the motor as you go through different speeds and see if the vibration is coming from there. Even if there is a leaf stuck in there it will make a tremendous shake and racket.
