Default 2002 ram onto a 2004 frame.

New to the forum and have been doing some searching and can't seem to find a answer to my question. Here's what I got.

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 Laramie (sport) edition with the 5.9 engine. My cab is rotted out and I have an opportunity to pick up a 04 dodge ram 2500 rolling chassis with a rust free cab. I would like to just transfer all my stuff over the the other cab and rolling chassis. I pretty sure drivelines will be an issue, but will the motor mounts and tranny mounts line up? I'm not gonna sell my truck and start over it's taken me a bit to get this one. I just want to transfer what I have over.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I hope you find someone on this site who has done this swap. Another way to get this info is to research converting a 5.9 to a hemi, then reverse the process. 5.9 to 5.7 swap has been done quite a bit and there are plenty of videos and tutorials on this.
I recommend you measure the mounts on the 2500 and compare to your 5.9 engine/tranny mounts. There is going to be some math involved in this swap so you might as well start now.
Have you pulled the 5.9, or are you still running it?

I'm still running it. I don't want to buy another engine and I don't to lose all the comforts of what I have right now ( heated seats, pedal adjust etc.) I will start doing some math.

The cabs themselves are pretty much the same but there will be somewhat significant wiring differences. You could transfer ALL (and I mean ALL) of your wiring to the 2500; you'll need to since there was no 360 after mid 2003. The control systems between the 360 and the hemi (I'm assuming the 2500 was a hemi truck; even worse if you're trying to do this with a diesel chassis) are significantly different. Then if you actually manage to make it all work, you'll see why they didn't put the 360 in 2500 3rd gens lol.
