I’m in a bit of slump. I bought into the idea of swapping a 46re onto my ram(procharged). Problem is it’s been done but with models before 06’. For whatever reason 06’ harness TIPM are different and have changed. I now have put money and time into this truck where I’m at wits end. The old set up(03-05) uses pin 1,4 and 6 to the 46re neutral safety switch. I’ve since installed the 46re ratchet shifter and have no clear definitive way of getting it running. Has anyone here done a swap with 06-08 model? Anyone familiar with the 06-08 TIPM models? The first pic is the 545rfe to the old model. The second pic is 06’.

How are you planning to control the trans? The RE is all computer controlled, but, quite different from your original trans.... any particular reason you are sticking with the 545??

 

It’s manually shifted and converted to a full manual valve body. The 545rfe can’t handle supercharged applications which my setup has. I’m able to use a external lock up and OD toggle switch.

 

For whatever reason lol....the reason is the 46 is VERY pre-CAN bus, whereas your truck is the first year for Ram CAN bus. Have you asked these guys: https://www.coperacingtrans.com/?pro...e-to-46re-swap ?
