I have a 2005, 5.7 hemi that will not go into gear. Park does work, and while in neutral the RPMs drop for a brief second before leveling out, changed the transmission filter and fluid, nothing has changed. Can anybody help?

 

Did anything happen right before problem started? Like transmission fluid change?
What codes are you getting?
Do you have access to code scanner? Many auto parts stores will read codes for you.

 

We got a P1715 code, and the front driveshaft had a crack that has a minor leak of trans fluid, I’d also like to add that we have put in 10 qts so far and it’s still not full, I don’t see how it could’ve drained the torque converter as well though
