Default 2003 2500 cummins tow capacity?

First off I would like to apologize if there is already another thread with this answer or if I am in the wrong section, but I browsed around and couldn't find it, new to the forum and first time posting. I recent got a 2003 2500 5.9L Cummins 6 speed manual 4x4 short bed and I am trying to configure if a fifth wheel RV tow is possible. I have done a lot of research but I cannot seem to get an exact amount for my vehicle, more or less a range, but I was hoping for a more exact number. Im looking at fifth wheels no heavier than 11,500 GVWR. From what I have read it seems like max for towing would be about 13,000 but I have also seen lower. According to my VIN on the truck it is the turbo diesel high output 24 valve which I was also getting inconsistent numbers with, I was wondering if anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Have a look here. Gear ratio, cab configuration, 2 or 4 wheel drive, all make a difference. Pick yours, and the number will be pretty accurate. Keep in mind, your trailer weight (final) is going to include all the stuff you put into it as well. The weight they give you is the "Dry" weight. That means all the tanks are empty, and you don't have any of your gear in there. That weight can add up QUICK. Especially if you have a large water tank in there.

Thank you that helps a lot, however I only see 2WD on there, any idea how much 4 wheel drive would lower that tow capacity?

Start here. Pick out the particulars for your truck. You can just skip the min/max weight for the trailer there.

Look at your front and rear axle ratings on the door sticker, those are the legal numbers that you can't exceed, you can weigh your truck on a CAT scale to see what they weigh unloaded.
