Default check engine light

03 Ram 2500 Check engine light not coming on at all. im wondering if this is a normal issue or could somebody have disconnected ?? Does anybody know how i would check this? what wire goes to the check engine light. The truck is getting codes stored for engine and tranny but the light never comes on. Not even when first turn key on. Thanks

The bulb should test at initial key on. If it doesn't, pull the cluster, make sure the bulb isn't simply burned out.

I'd want to check if there were any codes. You can do the internal code read with the ignition key to see what codes are stored. If this is a new to you truck, the light could have been disconnected to hide issues.

Yes the disconnect is what im curious about. There are codes but no light. I have the cluster out but doesent appear that any bulbs are missing. Also not sure where the light is supposed to illuminate. Any help is appreciated.

See if this works.

Engine symbol, left side, at the top.
