2008 with 208000. smoke coming from the tail pipe

Default 2008 with 208000. smoke coming from the tail pipe

new to diesel. 2008 with 208000 miles. runsand sounds like a diesel but has smoke coming from tail pipe, not sure if i should walk away?

smoke is soot black. Smells like diesel.

Most common causes of black smoke are faulty injectors, a faulty injector pump, a bad air filter (causing not enough oxygen to be supplied), a bad EGR valve (causing the valves to clog) or even a bad turbocharger.
