Glad to hear you weren’t hurt, but it’s puzzling me, there’s blue sky In photo, your pretty deep into woods….you don’t have to lie to us, you were burning one and dropped the lighter and this happened upon trying to retrieve lighter? Can’t say it hasn’t happened to myself on the dirt roads hunting lol.

in all seriousness the path you made doesn’t look bad, don’t see any rocks that could have kicked anything, worse case is a branch ripped some wires it looks like

Truck does not look bad. Why couldn’t you back out and drive away?

Lol right Ram360, too funny. No, was on my way to Guinness Brewery for lunch and a draft or two. It was one of those quick 5-10 minute showers and it had just ended. Came up a hill, stepped on gas to pass and bam rear end broke loose. Other drivers that stopped said they thought I would save it but, not the case.

MD State Tropper asked and tried the same thing about having me back it out but it lost all power, won’t even turn over.

Yep. Been there, done that. On my way to work one morning, hit a patch of frictionless pavement. (where they had run a gas line under the road, and then re-paved it) Rear end came loose, and I realized rather quickly I wasn't going to be able to save it. So, I picked the spot where I went off the road. I had fields on both sides, but, on one side there was a six foot deep ditch... didn't wanna go there. Soon as I had a clear path into the 'safe' field, and the truck was pointed in the right direction, just gave it a bit of gas, and off into the field I went. Dropped it into 4 wheel drive, wheeled on down to the next driveway, and back on the road. It was exciting, but, I wasn't even late for work.

They have cheap crowbars at Harbor Freight. One will come in handy when you need to use the rest room. Seriously, hopefully it's a minor repair as the truck does look unhurt. I went down on a curve once at a rather spirited speed on a bike. (Vegetable oil spilled on the road and left.) No broken bones but I destroyed my riding gear and was mostly bruises for a couple of weeks.

Blue jeans last 3 tenths of a second on asphalt, at 55 mph.......

Coming down an unfamiliar road on my bike, a sign that was partially hidden by trees/bushes flashed past... I was wondering what it said, when I came over the hill, and discovered it said "Corner, 25mph....." As I was doing 60, I knew there was no way I was gonna make, especially seeing the fresh tar/gravel treatment it had just received... Laid down the bike and kicked off, slid on my back a ways, until I finally ended up in a ditch... right at the base of a telephone pole.... that woulda hurt. I was fine, but, my jeans, and the army field jacket I had been wearing were completely trashed. Cracked the side case on the engine of the bike, but, otherwise, I could have ridden it home.

Best part was, as I was sliding across the road, some guy coming from the other direction, was paying attention to the guy sliding on his back, and not where he was going. He ended up in some guys front yard.

Had my brother come with his truck to pick up me and the bike. Fixed the side case, and rode the bike for a couple more years.
