Can someone tell me what size belt i need to bypass the Ac compressor on 2008 3.7l?
Since a/c is standard, there isn't really a non a/c set up. What you can do is get a compressor delete pulley. It goes in place of the compressor with the same size pulley on the front so you use your old belt.
Never tried this but seems like the logical way to go. Try this.
Find out the length of your current belt when new.
Take off the belt and run a piece of string around the belt path. Subtract the length of the belt from the length of the string. That value = X.
Now remove/bypass the compressor and measure path with string again. Subtract X from that number and that should be your new belt length.
Since the pulley should free wheel when the AC (clutch) is off, you really don’t need to delete it, unless you want to remove the weight of the compressor. I guess the shorter belt should free up things a bit but I don’t know by how much.
