By NO means does my truck define who I am, I haul with it, tow with it, and use it for my daily driver. But I also want to keep it dent and scratch free as long as possible, cause these trucks are not cheap and I would like to get a decent price for it when I'm ready to sell!!!! You just sound like one of the younger generation who's parents bought the truck for them, and they have no realization of the value of money!!!!
Nah, far from that generation, actually. I didn't say abuse the vehicle, I just said don't be **** about babying it. I try to avoid dings, chips, knicks, rocks, etc. myself when driving, but really, how obsessive is taking up 3 parking spaces 1/2 mile away at the other end of the parking lot?

There are some public places I WON'T take my truck because I know it will get damaged or stolen, but other than those few, that's why I have insurance. I wash and wax regularly. I change the oil and rotate the tires regularly. I fix what needs fixing when something needs to be fixed. I take care of the thing. Ilove my turck, and I complement other peoples' trucks when I see something that I like.

Not saying I don't LIKE my vehicles, I just understand that it's a mode of transportation, and that's about it. There are thousands of moving parts on it, and it doesn't have a protective bubble around it. It's going to get a little road wear over time, and I'm not really going to get too upset about it.

Parking 101 :

As I enter the Parking lot I proceed to look for a vacant space. Once I have chosen a spot, I proceed with "CAUTION" making sure I have EQUAL amount of spacing on BOTH side of the opposing vehicles, and ONLY then I proceed into the empty spot which will contain my chariot.I then take my LEFT hand and with a steady and upward motion I place it into (PARK) I then take my LEFT FOOT and begin to apply the Emergency Brake with firm BUT steady force to secure my means of conveyance. I then with my RIGHT hand un-clip the seatbelt WHILE SWIFTLY moving my LEFT arm from it's grasp !!! <~~ ( tricky maneuver ) I then useing my LEFT hand grasp the door handle lifting in an up-ward motion while I simultaneous push outward opening the door. I then exit the vehicle and close the door. I then proceed
(while walking away mind you) to push the ARM button on my remote to activate my alarm.

And that my friends is how I Park !!!!

I find it easier to get the truck into a spot if I back it in. You have more control over the nose, so backing into a spot makes centering the truck much easier than pulling into the spot. If you pull in, it is either because you have enough room to swing into the spot, or the lot has diagonal parking spots with directional rows.

The dam quad cab can't fit in a regular parking spot. I have to find a spot that has two straight ahead and use both.

i like to faace the nose in, i personally like the chalange of having to back out. Its fun in its own way, i always have my tailgate down aswell, so i can see a little better and judge distance.
