Default 2nd Gen Wheels On 3rd Gen

So I own a second gen ram 1500 with a 3rd gen 1500 rear axle. I was wondering if smaller then 17 inch rims will fit the rear axle with 3rd gen brakes? I know that smaller then 17 inch rims would rub front brakes on a 3rd gen, but what about the rear? I'm asking because I'm trying to buy cheap rims for inspection. Thanks

It should, I have an 02 and another 02 parts truck, both with rear disc brakes, both with 17inch wheels

I'm just wondering if a 16 inch wheel will fit the REAR brakes on a 3rd gen? I know they dont fit the front

I think that the lug holes were larger starting in 2002. 9/16 rather than the 1994-01 1/2 inch holes.
