Default Fan for a/c not coming on. help please

I have a 2007 ram 1500 and the fans not coming on sometimes to blow the a/c. if i crank the truck and the **** for the fan is on it normally starts right away but sometimes it doesn't and it will be 30 seconds or so before it kicks in. Then i've had a few times where i couldn't get it to come on at all. When this has happened i just drive to where i'm going then later when i get back in the truck it will be working again. Has anyone else had this issue or have any idea of what it could be? Does it sound like the fan is just going out? Thanks for any help.

There are several components to check. Problem here is that the symptoms are intermittent, so a faulty component might check good.
I'd first check the blower motor control ****. You'll need to remove the dash bezel and know how to check continuity with a DVOM/multimeter. The blower motor **** should have continuity in all modes except off.
Also do visual inspection and see if there any damage or debris that might affect connectivity.
If control **** checks, then try the blower motor resistor block. You'll need to do some research on doing this test, but it is not difficult and just another continuity check.
If you are getting continuity on both, then blower motor is next test. I would run 12v to the fan and see if it works. A probe type tool is good for these checks, but there are several ways to rig a power supply.
The most common cause of this problem is the blower motor control ****.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor. Mine was doing the same thing. I replaced it and fixed the problems. It’s down by the blower motor. Should be 2 or 3 screws. Pull that out and get a new one. It’s like $20 from autozone
