Should be, but, gotta be careful, Dodge/Ram is notorious for minor changes thru the years, that make them incompatible......

this is true, i just assumed that if the model and ratio was the same that it would work….what concerns me is that in the add that was previously sent it mentions durango and dakota, what im noticing is that those were not super popular in the 1500s….i just want to make sure that it will fit lol

Having looked into this for my 04 3/4 ton, you need to pay attention to the second line of numbers on the metal id tag. I was going to go with a vendor that rebuilds them, I can't remember the name - I think they were out of the middle north of usa... I didn't buy mine yet, they were pretty expensive and I just wasn't able to convince myself that a sub $100 jyard unit wouldn't be a wiser investment. Still thinking about it, but I'll likely go with the rebuilt one, I'm too busy to take that on.

No 2500 ever came with an AWD or full time 4x4 transfer case. A 2005 2500 would have an NV271 manual shift or an NV273 electronic shift transfer case. They won't work on a 1500 without some modifications.

Wasn't saying its the exact same thing as OP, just that for those types of tcases, the second row of numbers is important.
