Default AC Clutch/Compresser Noise

So, I have a 2003 5.7l Hemi and still blows cold air.... could be colder... but for the past few years the issue is that it is quiet when off but when I turn on the AC, or the DEFOG, it's growling at me.

Looking online, I was hoping to get a cheaper clutch/bearing kit like most cars and modern Ram's have, but, nope, none of the online shops in Canada list it. There are some on eBay but, no idea if description accurate and would work.

Anyone have any experience with the compressor kits? LINK ... or can I just buy a new bearing and re-use everything else?

Again... still works... but if (for example) I go to the drive through, it has to be shut off because of the noise level.

If it is noisy when the clutch is engaged, then the clutch isn't the problem, that's a failing compressor.

Agreed. The idler clutch electrically locks to the compressor shaft when the AC is activated so you couldn't be hearing the idler bearings.

Ah, so just the one bearing for the disengaged clutch, and when engaged the bearing (if one) is inside the compressor. I thought maybe since the clutch was in 3 parts, two halves had bearings and the 3rd is the magnet.

Hmm... doesn't seem worth the trouble then.
