Hello Everyone, I currently have a few trucks one in which I plan to trade at a local dealership today for a 2008 Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4x4 SXT could any of you shed some light on these trucks? The Mega cab is in excellent shape the only Dodge I've ever owned is my current farm truck that happens to be a 2nd Gen Ram. Please shine same light on issues, things to check out before I make the trade etc. I'm mechanical savvy and I will look at the obvious. I just know you all are the gurus on these trucks. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

If it's a hemi, listen for a tick. Get the truck up to temperature during the test drive and make sure temp stays to the left of the tick mark on the temp gauge. Check for leaks from engine, transmission, radiator/water pump, and differential. If it has an anti-spin differential, make sure you are getting drive from both rear wheels. Bring a code reader and plug it in for test drive and see if there are codes that are not causing an MIL. Make sure MIL light comes on as you turn the key to on but before starting.

It is a hemi. I planned to take my code reader. Just didn't know if there were common issues with this model, I know ALOT contributes to the condition of the truck. Thanks for the tips!
