Default Tipm switch now my truck thinks it's a different year and transmission setup

2008 Dodge Ram 2wd 1500 5.7
So here is how everything went down:

Replacing a fuel pump on a fellow Ram owners truck after replacing it still wouldn't start checked everything assumed it might be the TIPM, So being a good friend I said that I would use mine to see if that was the issue before he had to go buy one. So I switched them out. Still wouldn't start on his end traced the problem back to a wire issue stuck his tipm back in his truck and off he went. Everything worked fine on his truck.

But mine was another issue, after I had switched them out my truck which is a 2wd thought it was a 4wd so I am now throwing the Serv 4wd light, also instead of my truck reading a 2008, it thinks it's a 2006 (his was a 2006 4wd). So I tried a few remedies that I read about online hooking positive and negative cable together overnight to kill all the power in the system. Nothing has worked. I am still reading the correct vin. I am just at a loss trying to get the light to go off and have it read the correct year.

Thank you in advance for everyone's help!
