Default P0700 code 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Quad cab

My truck has been having issues when I stop at lights or stop signs that when I try to accelerate it revs hard but doesn't want to move. In stop-go traffic it is the worst but when I'm running a steady 55 of more without frequent stops it hardly has issues shifting. It reverses fine. The tow/haul mode doesnt activate when it starts acting up. Even my steering wheel starts having some problems. may be nothing but sometimes the steering wheel tightens up, other times it's loose as greese. I had it checked, fluids are all topped off and good but it is throwing a P0700 code saying the transmission control module. I called one dealership and they flat told me that they can only find a PCM for my truck. I don't know much about trucks so I don't know if the tmc is part of the PCM for this year and model or if the person didn't know themselves. I could use any clarification. If there is a separate TCM then where would I find it?

The 0700 code is pretty generic, usually, it's accompanied by another code, that indicates where the REAL problem is.....

That said, might just be the solenoid pack in the trans going bad.

They are correct; you don't have separate TCM. Both engine and trans functions are handled by the PCM for 2004 (2003's have a separate TCM). Just replacing the PCM will not solve your problem and may open you up to other problems.
